Simple Overview
The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a government platform where students can apply for dozens of central and state government scholarships in one place. Instead of applying separately to each scheme, students register once and apply to multiple scholarships they are eligible for. It is managed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Step-by-Step Application Process
- 1Register on scholarships.gov.in
Go to scholarships.gov.in and click 'New Registration'. Fill in basic details using your Aadhaar. An OTP will be sent to your mobile.

Log in and fill your academic details, family income, bank account, and upload required documents.
- 3Select applicable scholarship(s)
From available scholarships, select ones you are eligible for. Check eligibility criteria carefully.
- 4Submit before the deadline
Each scholarship has a different deadline. Apply before the closing date — NSP does not accept late applications.
- 5Institute verification
Your school or college must verify your application on NSP. Remind the administration to do this within the given timeframe.

After approval, scholarship amount is credited directly to your bank account. Track status on NSP portal any time.
