Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is the government's flagship housing scheme to provide affordable housing to all eligible citizens. PMAY-Gramin gives cash assistance to build a home in villages. Step-by-Step Application Process
- 1PMAY-Gramin: Check SECC list
Visit pmayg.nic.in to check if your family is in the SECC-2011 beneficiary list. If not, approach your Gram Panchayat for the waiting list.
- 2PMAY-Gramin: Contact Gram Panchayat
The Gram Pradhan or Panchayat Secretary will guide you through the local registration process.
- 3PMAY-Urban: Visit pmaymis.gov.in
Click 'Citizen Assessment' and enter your Aadhaar to start the urban application.
- 4Select the correct component
Choose Beneficiary Led Construction (to build on your own land) or Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (for home loan applicants).
- 5Complete Aadhaar verification
Your Aadhaar must be seeded with your bank account. Without this, instalments will be blocked.
- 6Receive money in stages
For Gramin, money is released in stages as construction is completed and verified through geotagged photographs on the Awaas App.
