Simple Overview
PM Vidya Lakshmi allows students to apply for education loans from multiple banks through a single website. You fill one Common Application Form and submit it to multiple banks simultaneously. The scheme also processes interest subsidies under CSIS — for EWS students (family income up to ₹4.5 lakh), the government pays the full loan interest during the study period and moratorium.
Who Can Apply?
- Indian students admitted to a government-recognised course after Class 12
- Students admitted to recognised universities for graduation, post-graduation, technical, and professional courses
- EWS students (family income up to ₹4.5 lakh) for full interest subsidy
Income Limits
For interest subsidy (CSIS): family income up to ₹4.5 lakh per year. Students above this limit can still get loans but without the interest subsidy.
